0530 Potomac – Oly Lifts Week 5 Day 1


I was planning to do something resembling this for Friday. Just without the cool lighting and staging. Or the soundtrack. Or choreography. And without any gracefulness on my part 🙂

Then I remembered I had tickets to see Dave Foley at the Arlington Cinema DraftHouse. Doh.
So next week….

This video is from Jayne Bernaconi – one of the dance professors at Towson U. Used to work with her a bit when I was over at the Media Center back in the early 2000s. I always thought climbing on sheets looked like fun.
Rest Day WODs
Friday – random campus meanderings

Saturday – 18 holes at East Potomac Blue Course – walking with pull cart. The SO had a pedometer. 6.39 miles of walking. Good stuff.

Sunday – Adult Gymnastics at Urban Evolution. Very excited to find an adult gymnastics class within easy biking distance of my house. And it was good to see Rupert again (who I did not expect to see – they had someone else listed on the schedule). 90 minutes of tumbling work and a little bit of parallel bar work plus some pullups. Also managed to get a 3 second handstand hold from a kick up. May have been longer, but I startled myself 🙂 Bike ride there and back.

AMRAP 10 minutes
6 pistols – yellow band assist
3 V-sit
3 banded russian dips. Did 5 rounds.

Felt uncertain on some of the reps, but I felt really good about how I could rescue the rep.
Brian PCF wants me to start dropping from the top vs what I’ve been doing (controlling the negative). Works for me. Less work.

Snatch Balance
57(2) – 57(1 – Snatch grip push jerk) – 57(2) – 57(2) – 57(2)
Felt really slow and uncertain on these. Wrists also started getting sore. Brian PCF recommended taping. Think I will start doing that.
Sleep: 8:30pm – 4:00am. Wide awake at 3:45. Gave up on the sleeping thing 15 minutes later
Stress: Medium Low. Some odds and ends stuff.
Fish Oil: 3 caps
Alcohol (4/23): zero

Pre-Workout: tea with milk and honey, water

Breakfast: coffee with coconut milk, honey and cinnamon, scrambled eggs and chorizo, cherries

Lunch: carrots, guacamole, palak paneer, sparkling water

Snack: mint chocolate chip Klondike bar

Dinner: mahi mahi with homegrown cherry tomatoes and basil, water

Snack: decaf earl grey tea with milk and honey

Low key day
